Tyler had his 6 month doctor's appointment yesterday and I'm happy to report he's doing good. His weight gain has slowed down a bit and he now weighs in at 19 pounds, 14 ounces and 27.5 inches. He's in the 75th percentile for both. He got a couple of shots which he DID not like. But, the doctor said he's as close to perfect as they get which makes me a proud mama. I love how happy he is most of the time. he's such a ray of sunshine. He's been on solid food for a month or so now, but he's gotten the okay to start on fruits and vegetables. So far he's had peas (didn't like) and bananas (liked ok). Tonight Acorn Squash is on the menu. we'll see how he fairs with that.
Although this does not have anything to do with his 6 month drs appt, tyler would like me to say that he is VERY excited for his Aunt De's visit - He's not sure if he remembers her or not because he hasn't seen her since he was 5 weeks old. so he can't wait to re-remember her.

Tylers first Xmas present

Tyler got his first Christmas present today from his buddy Aidan. (thank you Aidan!) He loves paper so I gave it to him to try to open himself. He needed a little help from Mama, but he looked awfully adorable trying to do it.

Tyler gets baptized

SO last Sunday Tyler got the Jesus in him (as Uncle Phil says). It was a beautiful and cold day, but the family came and we were so happy to share the joy with them. Tyler behaved beautifully in church and was smiling the whole time. It was the first baptism every performed by the Deacon so I'm sure it will be one he will always remember. The only slip up that we had was that I hit Tyler's head on the corner of the baptismal fountain, but he didn't even cry, so I couldn't have hurt him too much! oops - bad mama. A big thank you to April and Uncle Mike who accepted the responsibilty of being God Parents.

Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving, we have so much to be thankful for. We all have our health, our jobs, and of course of daily dose of love every time we see the little one. We spend Tofurkey day with my inlaws and they are fun! This year was themed and we had to dress up as pilgrims and indians. I was pilgrim but Steve and Tyler were indians. Thanks to Grandma Kyra for getting everyone to participate and making all of the costumes. Not everyone was as cute as Tyler, but not everyone can be :)

2 months old!

Tyler seems like he's growing up so fast. He's 2 months old today and he seems like a whole different baby than when he was born. He's a big boy - up to 14lbs 5 oz (that's in the 97th percentile!!) and almost 24" in length. He's not only growing, but developing. He's smiling all the time and really starting to laugh and giggle. He can hold his head up on his own and he's starting to grab at things (like Mommy's hair) He's a happy baby and a joy to us. Here's a tribute to how much he's grown.

We're so Lucky :)

I just want to put a quick shout out to Daddy Steve and Aunt De. You guys were awesome in the delivery room!! And I know the miracle of birth was hard on me, but it (along with the laboring mommy) was hard on you at times too. You both helped me through it and I couldn't have done it as well without either of you. Thank you for being there for me and being there to welcome our little guy into the world. He really is blessed to have so many people in his life that love him so much already. and so am I.

Baby Stankiewicz is Born!

Where the Title Came From
Maybe a weird place, but watching Juno reminded me that all kinds of families, pregnancies and choices exist. Su-Chin tells Juno that her baby "has fingernails". This strikes Juno and she decides to keep the baby. As a side note, this is completely inaccurate, babies don't develop fingernails until about 12 - 15 weeks. FYI.
Julie and Steve are having a baby!
To the joy of all their friends, Julie and Steve decided to have a baby. The due date approached and then suddenly passed, and now everyone is on the edge of their seats waiting to hear when the baby will be born. Right now, they are "nesting" (cleaning and getting their space ready for the arrival!) Keep posted, as Baby Stankiewicz could be born any second!!
